🐘⁠ ⁠ Made circa 1800, this octagonal pearl 🐘⁠ ⁠ Made circa 1800, this octagonal pearl glazed creamware dish is one of a pair featuring a lively scene with two figures riding an Indian elephant through an exotic landscape. The combination of several “Asian” style motifs was a common theme in 19th century England. Along a winding road, we see large fruit trees and fenced gardens. Further decorated with floral festoons and goat head handles, all set atop antique square wood bases.
