Background of Leeds Pottery
The original Leeds Pottery was founded around 1770 in Hunslet, near Leeds, and became renowned for its high-quality creamware.
The factory closed in the 1820s. The name Leeds Pottery continued under various owners throughout the second half of the 19th century.
These owners continued using earlier molds and styles.
This later production period is generally referred to as “Late Leeds.”
