Description

A pearlware half pint mug decorated with double bands of light brown slip and a band of green glazed herringbone rouletting at the mouth. This antique mochaware pottery mug is further decorated with straight and wavy lines of inlaid engine turning black slip.

Mochaware is turned on a lathe. However, the lathe operator has the freedom to make each piece of antique mochaware pottery unique which accounts for its unexpected beauty.

H 4.75 in. x  D 5 in. x Dm 3.6 in.

Condition

Excellent, the bottom underside only with some invisible restoration tiny frits on the rim.
