A sturdy antique presentation cup with a finely painted ship scene. This German porcelain cup, painted by C. Kappauf, depicts a majestic ship called the Themis flying a Bremen flag. The bottom is signed J.G. Hauthal & C, which was a porcelain factory in Hamburg, Germany. It is dated ca. 1860.
The cup is surprisingly large for an antique tea cup and would be perfect for your morning cup (or cups!) of coffee.
