Antique punch bowl with an armorial crest showing a lion and a unicorn. Made in the late 19th century by the French firm of Samson, Edme et Cie. this porcelain punch bowl is in the Chinese Export style decorated with delicate swags of flowers above smaller flower bouquets. The lion and unicorn are popular in heraldry appearing in the full royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom. The enamel work on this bowl is executed in the style of Famille Rose. It is intricate, in high relief, and has a rich color palette of rose, green, blue, and yellow, with gold accents.
