Chinese Blue and White Small Platter Made, circa 1770

WHY WE LOVE IT: What is special about this platter is its small size and way the decoration fills the space.

A Chinese blue and white platter hand painted in beautiful underglaze cobalt blue during the Qianlong period, circa 1770.

The center is filled with a bouquet of flowers and loose sprigs of flowers. Some of the flowers are painted in medium blue and some in darker blue. The border has dense cobalt blue decoration which incorporates flowers, rui, cloud, and wave designs.
