A pair of Chinese Export Famille Rose dessert plates for the “French Taste.” This lovely pair is quite old, dating from 1750. These plates, made in China but then exported to Europe, were designed for the French market. The design, with delicately painted flowers in purple and pink, evokes the designs of Chantilly and Sevres porcelain. This further evidences the plates’ intended audience.
