We are pleased to offer this set of a dozen Dresden China dinner dishes with a beautiful, large bouquet of colorful flowers in the center, encircled by deep blue borders decorated with scrolling gilt and three cartouches showing romantic scenes.
Dresden Porcelain is often described as Rococo Revival style. Popular during the years following the Renaissance, Rococo experienced a revival during the 19th century and influenced almost every aspect of interior design. During the 19th and 20th centuries, Dresden decorators were the first and most successful to employ the Rococo style on dinnerware decorated with elaborate and fanciful designs using a profusion of flowers, and foliage in the center, and on the borders scrolls of gilt around cartouches with romantic scenes.
The dishes are marked on the reverse with a 20th century Dresden porcelain mark in underglaze blue.
