A set of 14 English Drabware dishes made circa 1830. The dishes are taupe with wide borders decorated with molded leaves. The outer edges of the leaves and the centerlines are painted with a fine royal blue line.
The taupe color of these drabware dishes was created using a taupe colored clay. Drabware is drab through and through. A clear glaze over that clay produced the rich color of this drabware.
