WHY WE LOVE IT: The dishes are taupe with wide borders decorated with molded leaves.
A set of 14 English Drabware dishes made circa 1830. The outer edges of the leaves and the centerlines are painted with a fine royal blue line.
The taupe color of these drabware dishes was created using a taupe colored clay. Drabware is drab through and through. A clear glaze over that clay produced the rich color of this drabware.
