A pearlware half pint mug decorated with double bands of light brown slip and a band of green glazed herringbone rouletting at the mouth. Further decorated with straight and wavy lines of inlaid engine turning black slip.
Mochaware is turned on a lathe. However, the lathe operator has the freedom to make each piece of Mochaware unique which accounts for its unexpected beauty.
For an example of this type of decoration see Mocha and Related Dipped Wares by Jonathan Rickard pg 43.
