Fruit Bowl with Primula and Cobalt Ground

In stock

A beautiful rectangular porcelain footed fruit bowl made by Hicks and Meigh at the beginning of the 19th century. The bowl is decorated in the center with a hand-painted primula set on a purple ground. The border is painted in dark cobalt blue which seems to melt into the white edge. This pattern is known as “melting snow.”

This dramatic fruit bowl would be an amazing serving dish or the perfect resting spot for some freshly cut flowers on an entryway table.
