An elaborate Royal Crown Derby porcelain dinner service in the “Lily” pattern painted in bright cobalt blue. This beautiful blue and white pattern covers the entire plate with intense color. The decoration is an explosion of color radiating outwards. At the center of each plate is one larger flower encircled in gold.
This set of dishes was made by Derby in England in 1889 ( the date is coded into the back of the dishes) and retailed by the prestigious New York firm of Davis Calamore and Co. The “Lily” pattern is a classic design. Originating in the 18th century it has been popular for the past 200 years with each generation discovering it for the first time.
