A pair of early 19th-century Sevres porcelain plates, each with a bouquet of finely painted flowers in soft pinks, blue, purple, and yellow complemented with a rich apricot border. These dishes are hard-paste porcelain.

The Sèvres company was founded in 1738 with the support of Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour. In 1756, the factory moved to Sèvres, near Madame de Pompadour’s Bellevue Palace. In 1759 Sèvres became the Royal Porcelain Factory of the King of France.
