This large George IV armorial cake plate was made in the Flight Barr and Barr Worcester factory circa 1820. ⁠

The plate was made to serve cakes and other sweets. The colors are exquisite. A ring of hand-painted flowers fills the border encircling the crest and motto at the center of the plate.⁠

We have recently added a set of four Royal Lily pattern demitasse cups and saucers to our website. 💙 This set is beautifully painted in underglaze blue in the exquisite Worcester “Royal Lily” pattern. Originally named the “Blue Lily” pattern, the name was changed in 1788 when King George III and Queen Charlotte of England toured the Worcester factory and ordered a breakfast service in this pattern. Worcester subsequently renamed it the ‘Royal Lily’ pattern in honor of Queen Charlotte. ⁠

Both the dishes and the cups have exquisite gilding and a line of ochre along the rim.⁠

This set would be perfect for a small brunch gathering!

We love this set of four Mason’s ironstone plate

We love this set of four Mason’s ironstone plates, made in England 1834-1842. The colors are vibrant and Imari-inspired: deep cobalt blue and bright orange. They are beautifully decorated with floral designs of peach-colored and white flowers and turquoise leaves. In the center of each dish are two waterside scenes, one framed in orange the other one framed in peach.⁠

Gorgeous hand-painted details on a Chinese Imari porcelain plate.⁠

This plate is one of a pair of beautiful Chinese Imari porcelain dishes which dates to the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty, circa 1760. The dishes have a soft palette of red, cobalt blue, and gold. Here we see a detail of a chrysanthemum and peony flowers in the central panel.⁠

Made in England circa 1810, this exquisite mug is decorated with two orange-colored slip bands. Each band is decorated with midnight brown “seaweed” over the slip. The orange bands are separated by bands four thin bands of midnight brown and a beautiful band of green glazed rouletting along the mug’s top and base.

Newly added to our webiste is this set of 9 French modern stoneware chargers made in the 18th-century salt-glazed “Reeded” style. The chargers were made in France by Poterie Milon S in Dieulefit, in the last part of the 20th century. ⁠

These chargers would look great paired with any colorful plate.

This faience soup tureen was made in the Philippe

This faience soup tureen was made in the Philippe Mombaers factory in Brussels circa 1765; the cabbage tureen, its cover, and stand are painted in green tones with yellow highlights. The color combination is exquisite. The tureen is a gem of naturalism. Beautifully molded, the cabbage sits on a stand formed by cabbage leaves. The finial is in the form of a snail. Practiced gardeners know that snails are often found in the cabbage patch late in the growing season. A snail munching on this faience cabbage would have delighted the dinner guests when the soup tureen was presented at the table. Tureens in vegetable and animal forms were the height of a fashionable table setting in the Louis XV period.
