Set of 5 Antique Porcelain Dinner Dishes Hand-Painted, England, Ca. 1830

$520.00

This beautiful set of five Coalport porcelain dishes was made in England circa 1830, during the Regency period. The dishes are distinguished by their exceptionally fine hand-painted flowers, richly patterned green borders, and delicate gilding.
At the center of each dish is a splendid bouquet of flowers painted in vibrant shades of pink, yellow, blue, purple, and orange.
Roses and other garden flowers are arranged in lively compositions, with delicate leaves and stems adding a wonderful sense of movement. Each bouquet is individually painted, making every dish slightly different.
The close-up photographs reveal the remarkable quality of the flower painting.
Wide green and white dotted borders surround the bouquets, providing a striking contrast to the colorful flowers and white porcelain centers.
Three small white reserves interrupt each border, each framed with elaborate gilded scrollwork and decorated with an individual hand-painted flower.
The gently scalloped rims, finished with fine gilding, add another dimension to the dishes’ beauty.
Their graceful outlines complement the elaborate borders, giving the set a particularly elegant appearance.
The combination of brilliant flower painting, unusual green borders, and refined gilding makes these dishes outstanding examples of early 19th-century English decorative porcelain.
The five dishes are especially beautiful displayed together, whether arranged on a wall, in a cabinet, or as part of an elegant table setting.
Dimensions: 10 inches diameter each.
Condition: Excellent antique condition with the very slightest wear.
